The Discipleship Training School (DTS), is an intensive, live-learn Christian missionary training program. It is the foundational course for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and is also the prerequisite for all other YWAM training programs. To date, over 4 million people have graduated from a YWAM DTS!

THE MISSION

Did you know there are still places in the world where people have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ? There are places where people have no access to a church, a missionary, or even a Bible in their language. From North Africa to Far East Asia (the "10/40 Window" people are suffering under the burden of false religions and destructive philosophies. They are desperate for Hope, Truth, and Love. ​The Discipleship Training School (DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your role in God’s global work of redemption. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in a personal, new way and for those who desire to serve Him with fresh vision.

Our desire is for you to know God intimately and then to make Him known throughout the world! This will be six months that could change the rest of your life! Six months of practical service, excellent teaching, wonderful fellowship, evangelism, and spiritual growth. We invite you to fall in love with Jesus all over again.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DTS?

  • To gather and challenge people to worship, listen to, and obey God. To release them (in the context of the DTS) to serve through evangelism, intercession, acts of compassion and other expressions of God's heart for the world, possibly even pioneering new ministries.
  • To inspire and cultivate growth in one's relationship with God resulting in Christ-like character, which is based on a solid Biblical foundation, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the personal application of Biblical truth, especially concerning God's character, the Cross and His empowering Grace.​​
  • To sharpen one's ability to relate to, learn from, and work with people, including those of different cultures, personalities, and perspectives.
  • To further equip each one to serve God's purposes either in or outside of YWAM Family Ministries, strengthening a commitment to reach the lost, care for the poor, and opportunities to influence all areas of society.
  • To impart the vision and foundational values of Youth With A Mission International as well as that of the host operating location and to provide information regarding a variety of opportunities for service.

​Each DTS includes a 12-week Lecture Phase followed by a 11-Week Outreach Phase designed for you to put into practice all that you learned in the classroom. You'll be stretched and challenged in your relationship with God like never before and also have many opportunities to invite others to know God for themselves.
The cost for DTS at YWAM Myrtle Beach includes the Lecture Phase: 3,500 USD and the Outreach Phase: 3,500 USD. The total cost is $7,000. (Tuition covers class instruction, food and housing, and international travel expenses for the duration of the DTS . Outreach expenses may fluctuate depending on outreach location.)
