YWAM MYRTLE BEACH LEADS IN 60-HOURS OF PRAYER
YWAM Myrtle Beach leads the local Body of Christ into 60 hours of continuous prayer for the Peace and Safety of the Community during the Memorial Day Weekend 'Bikefest.'
60,000 motorcycles and 250,000 visitors come to the beach each year to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend. In years past there has been much violence; shootings, heightened drug activity, fights, robberies, and even murders.
This began with a Prayer Walk to bring the church in unity to pray for our city. We sensed that this was just the beginning of something much bigger God wanted to do in our city. Soon a meeting was called and over 40 pastors and ministry leaders came together with hearts toward unity and a commitment to see our community changed for the better. This birthed the Prayer Tent event. We received favor from the Myrtle Beach City Council to use public lands to pitch two 10x10 tents over the weekend to pray for the peace and safety of the city and our guests.
The body of Christ came together as One Church, One Body, manning the tents and praying for 60 hours, in shifts of four hours each.
